Pro Tips

Make sure you get your nails PROFESSIONALLY manicured! It's a small detail that is easily overlooked and we want to make sure they are ready for their close up. TIP: Stay away from neon or bright colors! We don’t want them to steal the show: The focus is YOU! Stick with neutrals like: white, cream, black, gray, nude, very light blush pink, or a french manicure.

nails

Make sure you shave in your normal places before your session! If you are a waxer, then make sure you wax at least two days before your session!
TIP: This is NOT the time to try something new, DO NOT WAX YOURSELF if you haven’t before!

groom

Do NOT spray tan before your session! Please! You WILL turn out orange in your photographs no matter how good of a spray tan it is! The camera picks up the color that our eyes can't see, and it emphasizes it. Embrace your natural skin tone, it's BEAUTIFUL in photographs, I promise!

skin

Your skin! While some ladies prefer tanned skin, it is important to not be exposed to direct sunlight in the weeks leading up to your session. Not only can this cause sunburn but also increases the chance of tan lines, which are both unflattering and difficult to edit out. If you must be in direct sunlight please limit your exposure and protect your skin with a high SPF sunscreen.

protect

Make sure you drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your session. Water flushes toxins from your body making your skin look more healthy and also helps shed extra water weight. It’s also a good idea to not have any alcohol the night before your shoot.

hydrate

It is important to get a good nights rest the night before your shoot. This will ensure you do not appear tired, reduces the chance of having undereye circles, and gives you plenty of energy. Some of the poses are more of a workout than you’d think, so having plenty of energy is important!
